Mark and Danielle| An Outdoor Winter Wedding at North 40 Guest House

I will never forget what Danielle said to me when she reached out to me about booking her wedding.  She said that I did her brother’s wedding last year and she knew she would be a nervous bride and that I had a way of making people feel very comfortable around me.  In my opinion, that is one of the best compliments I have ever been given and it meant so much to me when she said it.   Actually Danielle was a very calm bride.  The week of her wedding and up to the day before we had so much rain and wind that the couple had to perfect a back up plan to move the wedding indoors.  Danielle had every reason to panic but I never saw her anything but calm. Thankfully, on the day of the wedding, the wind dried up most of the soggy ground and they were able to have their beautiful wedding outdoors just like planned. There were so many special details to remember about this day.   Mark, the groom, and Michael, the bride’s father, built and arbor together that held the most beautiful flowers by Garden Gate Floral . Michael also made the heart shaped ring box at Danielle’s request.  It was such a special detail to this beautiful day.  2019-12-28_0009The heart shaped ring box made by Danielle’s father.2019-12-28_0012The flowers on the arbor that Mark and Michael made were stunning!!2019-12-28_00252019-12-28_00852019-12-28_00082019-12-28_00102019-12-28_00062019-12-28_00232019-12-28_0017Stella was the flower dog.2019-12-28_00562020-01-13_00022019-12-28_00212019-12-28_00262019-12-28_00222019-12-28_00272019-12-28_00322019-12-28_00312019-12-28_00862019-12-28_00932019-12-28_00822019-12-28_0060Flowers by garden gate floral2019-12-28_00592020-01-13_0001This is Danielle’s family.  We were introduced at her brother Chase’s wedding last year. click here to see his wedding.2019-12-28_00842019-12-28_00832019-12-28_00912019-12-28_00892019-12-28_00902019-12-28_0044Father daughter dance.

Willie & Mallory

Willie and Mallory have been dating almost 3 years but they planned their wedding in 3 weeks!  They decided to get married over Christmas vacation for a couple reasons.   Willie is a soldier in the Army and will be deployed in 2020. Mallory is from a large family (she is one of 8 kids) and it was important to her for her family to be together for her wedding. Not an easy task for a family that size but doable over the Holidays.   Willie and Mallory planned their wedding in just a few short weeks and it was so lovely.  I was so impressed with how laid back and relaxed they both were even though the had every reason to be stressed.   I can’t say enough sweet things about this couple and the Godly witness and character they both demonstrate.  I also felt so welcomed by their families and that meant so much to me.   Take a look at their special evening held at Warehouse 18 Venues in Hickory, NC.2019-12-27_00822019-12-27_0079Mallory and her mom.  2019-12-27_0075Mallory and Willie’s little girl, Chloe. 2019-12-27_00462019-12-27_0044Mallory and her sister Hannah.  2019-12-27_00382019-12-27_0069Mallory and her bridesmaids.  Pictured left are her friends and pictured right are her sister, Willie’s sister, and Mallory’s youngest sister.  2019-12-27_00362019-12-27_00782019-12-27_00682019-12-27_00342019-12-27_00762019-12-27_00372019-12-27_0033Praying with Mallory before the ceremony. 2019-12-27_0040Pictured on the right is Willie, his dad Bill and son Will. 2019-12-27_00472019-12-27_00432019-12-27_01512019-12-27_00562019-12-27_00602019-12-27_00612019-12-27_00592019-12-27_00642019-12-27_00632019-12-27_00582019-12-27_00302019-12-27_01562019-12-27_00292019-12-27_0027Willie’s children, Chloe and Will. Easton|Newborn Session

I AM IN LOVE!! Amy and Phillip just welcomed their newest little bundle of joy to their family! Easton Levi!  He is the sweetest little cuddle bug!  This is the first newborn session I have done so far without a heater!  I find that the heater usually puts most babies right to sleep.  Not this  little guy.  It mad him mad!  He was so hot natured.  (I can’t say I blame him, I don’t like to be hot when I sleep either!)  He is just a dream and I am so happy for this family! 2019-10-12_00992019-10-12_0103Look at those toes!  I think this may be my favorite image from their session! Mark and Danielle|Engagement Session

Mark and Danielle have been so much fun to work with! Danielle is the sister to one of the grooms I had last year.     They really enjoy nature, hiking and the outdoors so they loved the idea of a waterfall for their engagement session.  They brought along one of their dogs, Stella, who will be in their upcoming December wedding.  This couple rocked their engagement session, and  I can’t wait for their wedding day!  At some point during our conversation,  I found out that Mark was in “Dancing with the Stars of Burke County” a few years back, so of course we incorporated some twirling shots!  Check it out…2019-10-12_00042019-10-11_00672019-10-12_00012019-10-12_00062019-10-12_00122019-10-12_00112019-10-12_00052019-10-12_00092019-10-12_00082019-10-11_01062019-10-12_00072019-10-11_01112019-10-11_01042019-10-11_01092019-10-12_00102019-10-11_01052019-10-11_01072019-10-11_01082019-10-11_01032019-10-11_01022019-10-11_01002019-10-11_00992019-10-11_01012019-10-11_00942019-10-11_00922019-10-11_00972019-10-11_00932019-10-11_00982019-10-11_00912019-10-11_00902019-10-11_00892019-10-11_00842019-10-11_00862019-10-11_00852019-10-11_00732019-10-11_00822019-10-11_00872019-10-11_00832019-10-11_00712019-10-11_00802019-10-11_00812019-10-11_00792019-10-11_00742019-10-11_00722019-10-11_00772019-10-11_00782019-10-11_00702019-10-11_00692019-10-11_00652019-10-11_00682019-10-11_00662019-10-11_00632019-10-11_00622019-10-11_00612019-10-11_00592019-10-11_00542019-10-11_00552019-10-11_00562019-10-11_00572019-10-11_00582019-10-11_00532019-10-11_0052You guys!! The Harris Family

Melanie is such a sweet friend of mine.  Our daughters have been friend since 6th grade and it’s through our daughters that we became friends.  We look out for one another and for our girls.  Melanie and Roger wanted some family portraits of their own, but it was also important to them to have some extended family portraits made.  You see, last year Roger lost his stepdad before they had  the chance to get family portraits made with him. When you go through a loss like that you really see the importance of making an extra effort to make family pictures a priority.

Every family should do this! Make your family pictures a priority.  Don’t wait for the perfect time, because you know what?  THERE IS NEVER A PERFECT TIME!  Moms and Dads, your kids want you in the picture!  Throw away your insecurities!   So you aren’t photogenic!  Who cares?  So you don’t have the perfect outfit? Who cares?  So you need to lose some weight? The kids don’t care!  All they care about is YOU being in the picture so they can remeber YOU being part of their life and childhood!   My family teases me that I take too many pictures of everything and YES that may be true.  But this is why…..   A picture lasts .  It stays with you and is SOOO much more than a picture.  It’s a memory.   I want to remember every minute of this life and so should you! Every day we live is a gift from God.

So this session was of Roger, Melanie and their daughter, Jessie.   They also included Roger’s mom, sisters (Roger is the baby boy), brother in law, Roger’s Dad, stepmom and step brother in this session.   It takes effort to get a family together so I could tell it was important to them. I think thats what made this session extra special to me.  2019-10-11_0047Melanie, Jessie and Roger.2019-10-11_00362019-10-11_00482019-10-11_00332019-10-11_00352019-10-11_00442019-10-11_00432019-10-11_0045Roger’s mom.2019-10-11_00412019-10-11_0050Roger and his sisters.  He is the baby boy!2019-10-11_0032Roger’s sister and her husband.2019-10-11_0031Roger’s Dad and Stepmom.2019-10-11_00402019-10-11_0037Roger and Melanie I hope these images are ones you will cherish for years to come!

Happy Birthday Eloise!| A Backyard Family Session

Eloise just had a milestone birthday and party! This was her first “real birthday party” ever!  Of course her family has had celebrations and dinners for her before, but this time all her friends and family were invited and it was an acutual PARTY!  She just turned 80 and looks and feels wonderful!  Pam, Eloise’s daughter, reached out to me about doing a family session for her parents with all their kids, grandkids and great grankids before the party started (which I thought was a great idea)!  So here is their family backyard portrait session!  2019-10-11_00272019-10-11_00042019-10-11_00282019-10-11_00032019-10-11_00082019-10-11_00262019-10-11_00292019-10-11_00192019-10-11_00212019-10-11_00222019-10-11_00302019-10-11_00242019-10-11_00112019-10-11_00142019-10-11_00092019-10-11_00152019-10-11_0010Eloise, I hope you have the happiest year yet!

Chris and Landyn|Fall Apple Orchard Portrait Session

Look at Landyn.. Isn’t she just beautiful?  Most guys don’t love having pictures made, but Chris is such a good sport and never complains.  You can tell how much he loves Landyn just by the way he looks at her. They are still in the newlywed phase and are such a sweet couple.  I just love being around them and I loved this session at Apple Hill Orchard.  2019-09-27_00382019-09-27_00522019-09-27_00532019-09-27_00352019-09-27_00442019-09-27_00392019-09-27_00402019-09-27_00432019-09-27_00372019-09-27_00492019-09-27_00412019-09-27_00502019-09-27_00422019-09-27_00462019-09-27_00562019-09-27_00552019-09-27_00452019-09-27_00542019-09-27_00472019-09-27_0051
